Cultural and memory initiatives announced in Chieti and Milan

Chieti will host two cultural events on October 31 and November 1, including an Urban Trekking event and the second edition of the 'Monumenti Aperti' (Open Monuments) project. The Urban Trekking, themed ‘Le tracce dell’essenziale’ in honor of the 800th anniversary of Saint Francis' death, will follow a path from the Church of the Santissima Trinità to Santa Chiara. The city administration aims to use these initiatives to promote local heritage, such as the Roman Baths and underground Chieti.

In Milan, the Fondazione Memoria della Deportazione has scheduled a series of events for November 2026 as part of the European project ‘It’s ur history, Bro!’. The program includes urban trekking through Milan to reflect on the memory of Nazi-fascist deportation camps, starting from the Central Station and ending at the Foundation. Additionally, a workshop titled ‘Building shared memory’ will be held to explore storytelling and intercultural dialogue in educational settings, focusing on the experiences of students from diverse migratory backgrounds.
