Cultural and musical events scheduled in Alcácer do Sal and Vila Nova da Barquinha

Various cultural and musical events are scheduled across Portugal in late August. In Alcácer do Sal, the ‘Noites de Baco’ initiative returns to the Archaeological Crypt of the Castle of Alcácer do Sal on August 22. The program includes guided tours of the museum and castle walls, alongside a musical performance by the Cordel project featuring João Pires and Edu Mundo. The event also incorporates local wine from Herdade da Barrosinha.

In Vila Nova da Barquinha, the CIAAR (Centro de Interpretação de Arqueologia do Alto Ribatejo) will host the ‘Barcula Musicae’ ancient music encounters on August 21 and 22. Organized by Associação W-Replay, the event features musical training in violin, baroque viola, and chamber music, focusing on 17th and 18th-century repertoire from composers such as Bach, Vivaldi, and Handel. The program includes opening and closing concerts, with free admission to the performances.
