Cultural and political events scheduled in Gotha

The Forschungsbibliothek Gotha will host a concert by the Thuringian Police Orchestra on November 3 at Schloss Friedenstein. Led by Christian Beyer, the performance will feature the marches, dances, and festive music of court conductor Johann Heinrich Walch (1775–1855). The repertoire, based on previously unpublished original sources, commemorates the anniversary of the 1826 change of dynasty. Admission is free, though donations to the library are requested, and registration is required due to limited seating.

Additionally, Katrin Göring-Eckardt, a member of the Thuringian Bundestag, will hold a citizens' consultation at the weekly market in Gotha on October 29. The event aims to facilitate dialogue with residents in her hometown and will include representatives from the Green Party's local association.

On October 31, technician Jürgen Plöger will conclude the “Milestones of Mobility” lecture series with a presentation regarding historical transport topics, including high-wheel bicycles and gas station attendants.
