Cultural and religious festivities held in Fuencaliente and Segovia

Various cultural and religious festivities are taking place in Spain. In Fuencaliente, La Palma, the ‘Fiesta del Pino de la Virgen’ begins this Friday. The celebrations include a concert by Tajadre at the Town Hall Plaza, followed by traditional games, Canary wrestling demonstrations, and a communal lunch on Saturday. The festival date was adjusted following an agreement between residents and the local government to ensure safety regarding high temperatures and fire risks.

In Segovia, the Virgen de la Fuencisla will return to the Holy Cathedral with several updates to the procession. The arrival at the Plaza Mayor has been moved up by thirty minutes to assist elderly attendees with public transport. The procession will also feature a new red mantle and a change of the Virgin's crown, which dates back to 1613. Additionally, the route has returned to its traditional path via the Santo Domingo promenade, avoiding the difficult cobblestones of Cuesta de los Hoyos used in previous years.
