Cultural and scientific events scheduled in France

Various cultural and scientific events are scheduled in France, featuring research-based performances and historical lectures.

In Tours, the production ‘Secret’ will be presented by Sophie Rothé, a researcher from the University of Tours and Groupe n+1. This theatrical and scientific performance explores carceral literature from the 18th century, focusing on the act of writing from confinement. The show examines the connection between the incarcerated and the outside world through figures such as Casanova, Sade, and Mirabeau.

In Pennautier, the Société d’études scientifiques de l’Aude will host a monthly session on November 15, 2025. The event includes a lecture by Maxime Chavigny on the historical methodology used to document the experiences of resistance fighters and collaborators in the Aude region during World War II. Additionally, Charles Peytavie will present research on the management of the deceased and the cult of Purgatory by urban elites in Limoux between the 13th and 16th centuries.
