Cultural and seasonal updates in Sousel and Madeira

In Sousel, the municipality has announced the transition to winter time, effective the early hours of Sunday, October 25. Residents are advised to set clocks back 60 minutes at 02:00 to adjust to shorter daylight hours.

Additionally, the Sousel municipality is hosting several cultural events, including a guided tour of the history and heritage of Cano led by researcher João Richau, and an exhibition titled ‘Um lugar para todas as pessoas’ at the Sousel School Center to mark the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty and Municipal Equality Day.

In Madeira, the 15th Madeira International Organ Festival will feature the musical work ‘Insulana’ at the Sé do Funchal. The performance, which includes soprano Patrycja Gabrel, organist Laura Silva Mendes, and the Madeira Classical Orchestra, is inspired by Manuel Tomás’s epic poem. The project commemorates 50 years of regional autonomy by celebrating Madeiran history and identity through four distinct musical compositions.
