Cultural and social institutions mark major anniversaries

Various cultural and social institutions are marking significant anniversaries. In Viana do Castelo, the Lar de Santa Teresa has launched a commemorative program to celebrate its 150 years. The institution provides diverse social services, including childcare, elderly residential care, support for youth, and assistance for vulnerable mothers and infants. The celebration, themed ‘150 years of welcoming, caring, supporting and educating’, is expected to continue through 2026 and 2027, involving the local community and various partners.

In Santarém, the Theatro Victória celebrated 130 years of history. The anniversary programming included discussions on the intersection of theater and cinema, short film showcases, and debates regarding the future of performing arts. The events aimed to honor the venue's historical significance while addressing the challenges faced by cultural producers and seeking ways to expand public access to the space.
