Cultural and tourism festivals expand in Dhofar and Jeddah

Cultural and tourism activities are expanding across the region, highlighted by the Dhofar Khareef 2026 season in Oman and summer programming by the Culture and Arts Society in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

In Dhofar, the municipality is hosting over 300 events spanning arts, culture, sports, and heritage. Key locations include the Atteen Square, which serves as a hub for carnivals and musical evenings featuring international choirs from Iraq, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia. The season also includes the ‘Perfume Street’ to support local entrepreneurs and a ‘Downtown’ experience featuring modern entertainment like artificial snow.

In Jeddah, the Culture and Arts Society has expanded its August 2026 programming to include intellectual dialogue, literature, cinema, and music. Initiatives include an ‘AI Films’ program to integrate modern technology into filmmaking and a memorandum of understanding with the Nala Association for Literature and Narrative Arts. These efforts aim to foster national talent and align with the cultural development goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
