Cultural and urban development projects advance in Cádiz province
Several cultural and urban development projects are progressing in the Cádiz province. In Cádiz city, the transformation of the former Cementerio de los Ingleses into a public park has reached a decisive stage. The tender process for the project, which includes a health zone, children's playground, and irrigation systems, has seen interest from six companies. Arquitectura Prefabricada y Modular has been proposed as the most advantageous bidder with an offer of approximately 457,216 euros.
In Jerez, the Professional Association of Historical-Archaeological Heritage of Cádiz (ASPHA) has requested that the Junta de Andalucía grant protected status to the chimneys of the former bottle factory. The association argues these chimneys are vital symbols of the city's industrial and socio-economic history. This request follows calls from political groups to prevent the demolition of these structures.
Additionally, the Junta de Andalucía has designated the expansion of the Museo de Cádiz as a priority project. The regional government is seeking to complete the third phase of the museum's expansion, a process pending for over twenty years. The Junta is also awaiting a response from the Ministry of Culture regarding the Master Plan for Casa Pinillos, which is intended to become an interpretation center for Cádiz's historical commercial relationships.
