Cultural art projects launch in Ermesinde and Alcobaça

The Express’ARTE project continues in Ermesinde for the 2026/2027 school year. Promoted by the Municipality of Valongo in partnership with the Ermesinde Schools Group and local cultural associations, the initiative uses performing arts—including circus arts, theater, and music—as pedagogical tools to promote inclusion and educational success among students.

Separately, the Armazém das Artes in Alcobaça is launching ‘Territory: Fronteiras na Arte Pública’ this October. The 18-month program features ten international artists living in Portugal and will span three cities: Alcobaça, Óbidos, and Sines. The project includes three exhibitions and three public mural projects, exploring contemporary boundaries in public art through gallery-scale works, sculptures, and large-scale mural interventions.
