Cultural awards announced in Zurich and Lower Austria

The City of Zurich has announced its annual cultural awards, distributing a total of 726,000 Swiss francs to 21 artists and three collectives. The grants, ranging from 10,000 to 48,000 francs, support various disciplines including music, classical music, visual arts, literature, and dance. Notable recipients include sound artist Simon Grab, DJ Jenny Cara, and Tillmann Ostendarp in the music category, while Usama Al Shahmani and Hayat Erdoğan received awards for their literary work.

In Lower Austria, the 66th annual cultural prizes were presented at the Festspielhaus St. Pölten. The awards honored 24 artists and cultural initiatives across eight categories. Each category featured a recognition prize of 13,000 euros and two acknowledgment prizes of 6,000 euros. Michael Birkmeyer received the special prize for dance and performance, while Johanna Doderer was honored in the music category and Georg Bydlinski for his literary work.
