Cultural awards ceremonies held in Boecillo and Badajoz

The town of Boecillo will host the awards gala for the second International Short Story Contest, ‘La Libélula Vaga’, on October 29 at the Boecillo Civic Center. Organized by the AKIRE Cultural Association, the event follows a competition that received over 600 entries from around the world. The ceremony will feature finalist stories, the winning work, and live music.

In Badajoz, the Ciudad de Badajoz Awards were presented at the Santa Catalina Cultural Space. The ceremony combined jury announcements and award presentations across seven disciplines: poetry, novel, journalism, sculpture, painting, photography, and music. José María Mayorga García won the novel category for ‘Malas viudas’. The event included musical performances and an exhibition of selected works at the Luis de Morales City Museum.
