Cultural awards presented in Bydgoszcz and Katowice

Several cultural awards were presented in Polish cities. In Bydgoszcz, the 23rd edition of the ‘Strzała Łuczniczki’ (Archer's Arrow) Bydgoszcz Literary Award of the Year 2025 was held. The winners include Alicja Regiewicz in the poetry category for ‘Wykrzywnik twarzy’, Małgorzata Czyńska and Katarzyna Gębarowska in the prose and essay category for ‘Lajkarze’, and Galeria Miejska bwa for the editorial level award for ‘Apetyt’. The competition aims to promote books and authors connected to Bydgoszcz.

In Katowice, the Mayor's Awards for Culture were presented to six individuals for their artistic and educational achievements. Notable recipients include hip-hop artists Fokus (Wojciech Alszer) and Rahim (Sebastian Salbert), known for their work with Paktofonika and Pokahontaz. Other laureates include Aldona Adamska-Dziuba, Bernadetta Stańczyk, Dorota Zawierucha, and Marcin Gaweł. The awards, which have been granted since 1984, recognize those with significant cultural contributions to the city.
