Kraljeva Sutjeska hosts presentation of scientific collection on Bosnian Kingdom

A scientific collection titled ‘Posljedice nestanka Bosanskoga Kraljevstva’ (Consequences of the Disappearance of the Bosnian Kingdom) was officially presented at the Franciscan monastery and the Church of St. John the Baptist in Kraljeva Sutjeska. The event was held as part of the ‘Dani kraljice Katarine’ (Queen Catherine Days) manifestation.

The publication features 17 scientific papers from prominent authors in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, and other European countries. The works utilize various perspectives, including archaeology, history, art history, historical demography, and cultural heritage, to analyze the pivotal period of the Ottoman conquest of Bosnia in 1463. Key themes include political, social, and demographic changes, population migrations, and the fate of the Bosnian nobility.

The collection was produced following an international scientific meeting in Mostar marking the 600th anniversary of the birth of Bosnian Queen Katarina Kosača Kotromanić. It is co-published by the University of Mostar and HKD Napredak – Glavna podružnica Mostar, in partnership with Napredak branches in Dubrovnik and Split.
