Cultural celebrations and infrastructure updates in Bulgaria

Bulgarian towns are marking local holidays with various cultural events and infrastructure improvements. In Bolyarovo, celebrations for Dimitrovden include a divine liturgy at St. Dimitar Church, a flag-raising ceremony, and musical performances by singer Rayna and the Strandzha Professional Folklore Ensemble. The festivities also feature local culinary specialties through the ‘Flavors of the Strandzha Region’ initiative.

In Sliven, the ‘Sirak Skitnik’ exhibition hall has officially reopened following an extensive renovation. The project, funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, included modernizing the building's heating, ventilation, and electrical systems, as well as installing a photovoltaic system for energy efficiency. The renovation also improved accessibility with the addition of a ramp and an elevator. The reopening coincides with the opening of the National Gallery of Fine Arts – Sliven 2026 and the presentation of the ‘Sirak Skitnik’ prize.
