Cultural commemorations and academic starts in Chile and Cuba

In Cuba, the Universidad de Sancti Spíritus José Martí Pérez officially commenced the 2026-2027 academic year, welcoming nearly 1,000 new students. During the commencement, Alicia Alonso Becerra, Vice Minister of Higher Education, emphasized the importance of increasing in-person instruction and utilizing interactive learning platforms. She also highlighted the need for professional training to support the Cuban government's economic transformations.
