Cultural commemorations and festivals held in Italy and Croatia

In Italy, the MEDEA cultural association has announced “Medea – La leggenda di Giano,” an event scheduled for August 21, 2026, at the Abbey of Fontigliano in Nusco. The program includes a afternoon talk titled “Aspettando Giano Wood Rock,” focusing on themes of critical thinking and community regeneration. The evening will feature electronic music performances by Lex DJ, DJ Juliette, Drowsle, and Mel-1, accompanied by holographic visual displays.

In Croatia, the Italian community in Pola held a cultural event titled “La memoria genera il futuro” to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Vergarolla massacre, which occurred on August 18, 1946. The ceremony included a classical music concert and was attended by various dignitaries, including the Italian Ambassador to Zagreb, Paolo Trichilo, and the Consul General of Italy in Fiume, Iva Palmieri.
