Cultural commemorations held in Eger and Oradea

In Eger, Hungary, celebrations were held to mark the anniversary of the 1552 defense of Eger Castle against Ottoman forces. The event included wreath-laying ceremonies to honor the castle defenders. Key highlights included the unveiling of the restored 126-year-old Saint Stephen statue, which underwent extensive renovation to repair damage and replace missing elements. Additionally, actor Péter Tunyogi from the Gárdonyi Géza Theatre received the Dobó Sword award.

In Oradea, Romania, the Sola Fide Community and Cultural Association received the Excellent Public Educator Certificate from the Transylvanian Hungarian Cultural Association (EMKE). The award recognizes the group's commitment to preserving Hungarian culture and building community through Christian values and regional heritage. The association, which evolved from a musical group formed in 2018, focuses on keeping the cultural legacy of the Partium and Transylvania regions alive.
