Cultural contests and political conferences announced in Tlaxcala and Miguel Hidalgo

The Instituto Tlaxcalteca de Elecciones (ITE) has scheduled a conference featuring activist and entrepreneur Pablo Marín Escobar. The event, focused on politics in the era of artificial intelligence, will take place on August 28, 2026, at the Instituto Tecnológico de Apizaco for higher education students.

In conjunction with this, the ITE is hosting the state phase of the national oratory contest ‘Dr. Belisario Domínguez. Libres por la palabra libre’. Participants aged 18 to 29 can compete for prizes of 12,000, 10,000, and 8,000 pesos. The winner will represent Tlaxcala in the national phase in Chiapas this October.

Separately, the Miguel Hidalgo borough has launched the ‘Expresiones de Libertad’ cultural contest to commemorate Liberty Day on October 2. The competition includes three categories: ‘Pluma Libre’ (essays or short stories), ‘Historias en Libertad’ (digital creation), and ‘Enfoque Ciudadano’ (photography). Winners in each category will receive 20,000 pesos. Mayor Mauricio Tabe emphasized that the initiative aims to promote values of justice and freedom of expression.
