Cultural Counsel undergoes leadership restructuring

The art publicity firm Cultural Counsel is undergoing a leadership restructuring. Founder Adam Abdalla, who will retain ownership of the company, is transitioning away from day-to-day account management to focus on developing new intellectual properties, including sports, art projects, movie production, and television documentaries.

Senior Vice President Marcella Zimmerman is assuming responsibility for public-facing affairs. Abdalla noted that a managerial management plan has been in development since last spring and that the announcement of a new leader for the firm is imminent.

The restructuring follows a period of staff turnover and a reduction in workforce. Sources indicate the firm’s headcount has decreased from just over 30 employees post-COVID to approximately 18. The transition follows the departures of several senior leaders, including former SVPs Hunter Braithwaite and Ed Winstead, as well as account executives Evan and André Lenox-Samour and Liza Stoner.
