Cultural developments in Craiova and Timișoara

Romania is seeing significant developments in its cultural and historical infrastructure. In Craiova, the Dolj County Council has announced a new phase of restoration for the Administrative Palace. This project, estimated to cost approximately 27.9 million lei, focuses on the interior spaces of the Neo-Romanian monument, which includes murals, stucco-marble columns, and decorative flooring. The works are expected to span three years and will be carried out in stages, beginning with the main halls and vaults.

In Timișoara, the Art Encounters foundation has inaugurated a new contemporary art space in a former administrative building on Take Ionescu Boulevard. The facility has been upgraded to museum standards regarding climate control and security. The new site includes an exhibition space, an art library, a bookstore, a cafe, and workshop areas for children. To mark the opening, the foundation is hosting the ‘Picasso en visite’ exhibition, featuring 69 works from the Musée Picasso collection in Antibes.
