Cultural developments in Madrid and Bogotá

The Moments Festival is returning to Madrid from October 15 to 24. The event will feature approximately 50 activities, more than 50 national and international artists, and 20 different venues across the city. The festival's programming spans diverse disciplines, including illustration, skateboarding, photography, contemporary flamenco, ceramics, and textile art. Confirmed participants include designer Andy Jenkins, Girl Skateboards Art Dump, photographers Jim Saah and Siri Kaur, and artists Murone, Regina de Jiménez, and El Averigua. Venues include Gato Malasaña, Centro de Creación Contemporánea Quinta del Sordo, and Molar Discos.

Bogotá has been named the Ibero-American Capital of Cultures for the upcoming year. This recognition highlights the city's artistic growth, supported by assets such as two symphony orchestras, nearly 100 theater groups, over 40 art galleries, and approximately 50 museums. While organizations like the Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo have contributed to this cultural flourishing, local reflections suggest a need to increase citizen engagement and participation in the city's diverse artistic offerings.
