Cultural differences highlighted in US and German grocery shopping

Social media content has highlighted the cultural and economic differences experienced by Americans and Germans when shopping in different international grocery environments.

A German shopper shared his experience visiting a Costco in the United States, noting the vast differences in scale, such as massive shopping carts and large packaging sizes like gallons of milk. Despite Costco being considered a budget-friendly option in the US, the shopper expressed surprise at a total of $368.20 for a relatively small selection of items including meat, fruit, and dairy.

In a separate instance, an American social media creator living in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, documented his attempts to find specific baked goods at Lidl. After an initial unsuccessful attempt to find a chocolate-filled Berliner, he successfully located the item at a different branch, praising the taste of the chocolate cream filling.
