Polish cinema Podlasie Szczecin EduFilmLab wet collodion photography

Various cultural initiatives are launching across Poland, including a film history exhibition in Podlasie and educational film programs in Szczecin.

In Podlasie, the exhibition ‘Wyśniona historia kina na Podlasiu’ (Dreamed History of Cinema in Podlasie) features 40 photographs created using the archaic wet collodion technique. The exhibition highlights figures born in the region who influenced global cinema, such as Oscar winners Andrzej Wajda and Boris Kaufman, as well as documentary icon Dziga Vertov. Contemporary artists and actors portray these historical figures.

In Szczecin, Kino Pionier 1907 is launching the EduFilmLab project this November. The program includes film screenings, workshops, and discussions. Notable guests include director Jan Jakub Kolski, who will lead film workshops from November 3–5, and actress Aleksandra Konieczna. The initiative aims to foster creativity and interest in cinematic arts through various educational formats.
