Cultural events and free museum access announced in Japan
Various cultural celebrations and exhibitions are scheduled across Japan for late October and early November 2026.
In Daito City, the Daito Citizen Cultural Festival will take place over three days on October 31, November 1, and November 3 at the Daito City General Cultural Center. The event features diverse exhibitions including calligraphy, painting, and ikebana, alongside stage performances such as traditional Japanese dance, shamisen, and various musical ensembles. Hands-on workshops and tea ceremonies are also planned.
In the Tohoku region, the Nishinuma Ruins Park will offer free access to its exhibition rooms from October 29 to November 3 to coincide with Tohoku Culture Day and Culture Day. During this period, the Numarinkan will also host a jellyfish exhibition from the Kamo Aquarium. Tohoku Culture Day, observed annually by six prefectures and Sendai City, aims to promote regional cultural awareness through various museum discounts and local events.
