ORF Long Night of Museums to feature hundreds of venues across Austria

The 26th ORF Long Night of Museums is scheduled for October 3, 2026, involving approximately 670 cultural institutions across Austria and parts of Slovenia, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, and Germany. The event offers a single ticket for access to numerous participating sites, including 124 museums in Vienna and 52 in Upper Austria. Programs include guided tours, workshops, and specialized exhibitions, such as the new display on Austria during the World War eras at the Heeresgeschichtliches Museum.

In addition to the large-scale event, Austrian museums have achieved international recognition. The ZOOM Kindermuseum in Vienna was a finalist for the DASA Award, noted for its inclusive approach to learning through active participation. Meanwhile, Museum Gugging reached the final round of the Art Museum Award for its focus on social context and inclusion in art.
