Cultural events announced in Granollers and Girona

In Granollers, contemporary Catalan poet Josep Pedrals will present his new essay, ‘Poeticismes’ (Arcàdia, 2026), at the Anònims restaurant-bookstore. The event marks the start of the ‘Vetllades Poètiques, Literàries i Musicals’ season. Pedrals, who has ancestral roots in Granollers, will discuss the complexities of poetic reading and the relationship between the reader and the verse in conversation with Jordi Pagès and Arianna Bruguera.

In Girona, the City Council is set to publish ‘L’associacionisme veïnal a Girona: entre la festa i la protesta’. Coordinated by Saida Palou Rubio, the book examines the evolution of neighborhood associations over the last century, focusing on their social, cultural, and activist roles. The work includes testimonies and documentation regarding community life during the Franco era and the impact of local entities on urban services and popular festivals. The book will be presented at various civic centers, including Sant Narcís, Ter, and Pont Major.
