Cultural events announced in Oliva and Andorra

Various cultural and musical events are scheduled in Spain and Andorra. In Oliva, Spain, the Cor de La Rectoria will perform Karl Jenkins’ ‘Stabat Mater’ at the Church of Sant Francesc d’Assís on September 19. The production features over 90 performers, including a 70-voice choir, a 20-piece chamber orchestra, and soloist Carla Mayer, directed by Jaime Morell.

In Andorra, the Santuari Nostra Senyora de Meritxell is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its new construction. Commemorative activities include a concert by Ignacio Ribas & Amores percussion group and various art exhibitions, such as a photographic display titled ‘Meritxell Reneix’ and a sculpture exhibition featuring works by artists like Pablo Picasso and Auguste Rodin.
