Cultural events drive summer tourism in Santa Marinella and Maratea

Various Italian coastal towns are concluding their summer cultural seasons with significant musical and community events.

In Santa Marinella, upcoming performances at the Palazzo Municipale include a classical program on September 4 featuring Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with soloist Pasquale Jannone and Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake suite, conducted by Maestro La Stella. On September 5, a tribute to Lucio Dalla titled ‘L’anno che verrà’ will feature Peppe Servillo, Javier Girotto, and Natalio Mangalavite, blending jazz, folk, and acoustic arrangements.

In Maratea, the Pro Loco ‘La Perla’ reported a successful summer season characterized by high attendance across various literary, musical, and social initiatives. Key highlights included the ‘Festa della Musica’ at Parco Pietra del Sole and gender stereotype debates at Villa Tarantini. Local officials noted that investing in high-quality culture has been a primary driver for regional growth and tourism.
