Cultural events feature samba festivals in Rio and Márcia concert in Almada
The weekend features various cultural events, including the ‘Próxima Parada Samba’ festival at the Palácio Gustavo Capanema in Rio de Janeiro. Organized by Luana Carvalho to honor the legacy of Beth Carvalho, the free event includes performances by Mart’nália, a ‘Parada da Madrinha’ samba circle featuring musicians who played with Carvalho, and a ‘Parada de Bambas’ session. The festival also offers multimedia exhibitions, film screenings, and musical discussions.
In Almada, singer-songwriter Márcia will perform her sixth album, ‘Ana Márcia’, at the Teatro Municipal Joaquim Benite. The concert showcases songs exploring themes of origin, love, and motherhood, featuring collaborations with artists such as Sérgio Godinho, Catarina Salinas, and Jorge Palma.
