Cultural events held at Mexican universities

Academic institutions in Mexico recently hosted cultural events focused on photography and literature. At the Centro Universitario de Tlaquepaque (CUTlaquepaque), photographer David Eisenberg conducted a workshop titled ‘Platikando’. Eisenberg, known for portraiture of artists and business leaders, shared experiences capturing figures such as Ringo Starr, Saúl Hernández, and Amaia Montero.

In Nuevo León, the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (UANL) organized discussions regarding the work of author Juan Rulfo. Through the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters, professors analyzed Rulfo’s literary contributions, focusing on themes of orphancy, death, and desolation found in works like ‘Pedro Páramo’ and ‘El Llano en llamas’. The event, held in collaboration with the Juan Rulfo Foundation, included biographical insights and explorations of his correspondence with Clara Aparicio.
