Cultural events held at Munkácsy Mihály Magyar Ház and Naphíd Galéria

Cultural events were held in honor of Hungarian art and history. At the Munkácsy Mihály Magyar Ház, the fifth installment of the ‘Cultural History Wanderings’ lecture series took place on October 13. Art historian and local historian Béla Popovics delivered a presentation titled ‘In the Footsteps of Odysseus,’ exploring Homeric mythology and the epic journey of Odysseus. The interactive event included photographic presentations, literary readings by Márta Palojtay, and piano music.

In Nagykőrös, the Naphíd Galéria opened a special exhibition titled ‘Birds’ on October 18 to mark Hungarian Art Day. Supported by the Hungarian Academy of Arts, the exhibition features works by three distinct artists: painter and writer György Szemadám, graphic artist András Szunyoghy, and enamel artist Árpád Skultéti. The collection focuses on the depiction of birds through various artistic mediums, highlighting the theme of nature and symbolic interpretation.
