Cultural events held in Cetinje and Bijelo Polje
Various cultural events took place in Montenegro, featuring literary and musical performances. In Cetinje, a literary and musical evening was held at the Center for Culture of the Capital City, showcasing singer-songwriter and writer Srđan Marjanović and writer Žaklina Bagaš. Marjanović presented his fifth novel, ‘Zajedno’, a thriller inspired by his return to Zagreb, emphasizing themes of kindness and music as a unifying force. Bagaš also introduced her second poetry collection, ‘Žeđ’, which focuses on the theme of love.
In Bijelo Polje, musicians Almira Mešković and Daniel Lazar performed at the local Center for Culture. Their performance blended Balkan rhythms, Scandinavian folklore, and Romani music. The duo, who have collaborated for over two decades, noted that their sound combines violin and accordion with a mix of virtuosity and melancholy. This concert is part of a regional tour following an eight-year hiatus from performing in the Balkan region.
