Cultural events held in Ciudad Juárez
Ciudad Juárez is hosting various cultural and musical celebrations. The musical group Los Frontera de Ciudad Juárez y El Paso is celebrating its 55th anniversary with two concerts scheduled for October 24 at Carnitas y Cantaritos de la Gómez. Founded in the 1960s as the Moon Lions, the group has a long history in the region, including hits such as ‘Tiempo’ and ‘Cuatro copas’. The band's leader, David Sotelo Fierro, noted recent releases including a cumbia version of ‘Feliz triste domingo’ and upcoming film participation.
Additionally, the third annual Border Wine Fest has commenced at the Plaza de la Mexicanidad under a ‘Jazz Edition’ theme. The festival features the traditional grape-treading ritual and offers tastings from over 50 wineries, showcasing labels from Mexican states such as Baja California, Chihuahua, and Coahuila, as well as New Mexico in the United States. The event includes workshops in mixology, wine appreciation, and culinary arts, alongside local entrepreneur pavilions.
