Cultural events held in Euboea and Kalavryta

In Euboea, the Choral Festival 2026 was held at the Regional Unit Theater in Chalkida to honor the memory of the late mayor Giorgos Psathas. Organized by the Federation of Cultural Associations of Euboea, the event featured various choirs, including the Kymi Cultural and Educational Association Choir. Former Deputy Mayor Alexandros Theodorou participated in the musical tribute by singing with the Kymi choir.

In Kalavryta, the Municipality of Kalavryta, the Mexican Embassy in Greece, and the Association of Mexicans in Greece (Asomex) organized a celebration of the Mexican Day of the Dead (Día De Los Muertos). The event took place at the Stone Building in Petmezaia. This celebration follows the twinning of Kalavryta with the Mexican city of Dolores Hidalgo in March 2025. The program included national anthems performed by the Kalavryta Municipal Philharmonic Orchestra, a presentation on the significance of the holiday by professor Leonora Moreleon, and traditional Mexican dances by Julietta Sakti and the Corazón de México group.
