Cultural events held in honor of Miguel Delibes in Spain
Two distinct cultural events centered on the legacy of writer Miguel Delibes took place in Spain. In Boecillo, Germán Delibes presented his book, ‘El abuelo Delibes’, at the local Civic Center. The work offers a personal and familial perspective on the author, detailing his hobbies such as tennis and cycling, as well as private family moments and his experiences surrounding the Cervantes Prize.
In Alcobendas, the Espacio Miguel Delibes hosted a conference titled ‘Literature and History: What do we read when we read fiction?’. Part of the ‘Miércoles en Abierto’ series organized by the Miguel Delibes Popular University, the session explored the boundary between historical facts and creative license in novels and audiovisual series. The discussion also addressed the historical impact of the printing press on the spread of knowledge and the Enlightenment.
