Cultural events highlight art and philosophy in Italy

Various cultural and philosophical discussions are taking place in Italy, focusing on art preservation and theological reflections.

In Cagliari, the Pinacoteca of the National Museums is celebrating its 225th anniversary with a new lighting and spatial redesign. Architect Michele Schintu will discuss how the lighting project, developed alongside Alessandro Sitzia and Marco Antonio Scanu, transforms the visitor experience. The project balances restoration with advanced lighting design to enhance the visibility of artworks while ensuring their protection through controlled luminance and colorimetry.

In a separate philosophical reflection, Massimo Recalcati examines the Franciscan tale of the Wolf of Gubbio. He uses the story to explore human responses to fear and the unknown, contrasting the impulse for security and segregation with the approach of Saint Francis, who sought to engage directly with the perceived threat.
