Cultural events highlight Italian literature and historical identity

The theatrical tour of ‘Accabadora’, based on the award-winning novel by Michela Murgia, is set to debut at the Teatro Fontana in Milan on November 2. Produced by Savà Produzioni Creative and directed by Veronica Cruciani, the production features a monologue performed by Anna Della Rosa. The play, adapted by Carlotta Corradi, explores the complex relationship between Maria and Bonaria Urrai through Maria’s perspective.

In Verbania, the novel ‘Polissena Das. Il viaggio verso il Golem’ by Annalina Molteni was presented at FestivalPOST. The story follows Polissena, a pharmacist from Trieste, through the First World War and into 1944. The narrative examines themes of identity and displacement as the protagonist navigates being viewed as a foreigner by both Italian and Austrian authorities during times of conflict.
