Cultural events highlight traditional arts and music in Montone and Catania

Various cultural events are scheduled across Italy, highlighting traditional craftsmanship and folk music. In Montone, the “Communitas Cogitationis” series will feature internationally renowned luthier Igor Moroder on September 5. The event, held at the church of Santa Maria Assunta, will explore the intersection of woodworking, music, and artistic sensitivity through Moroder’s professional journey and expertise in instrument making and restoration.

In Catania, the “Sicilia a Culuri” project is launching to promote Sicilian musical and performing traditions. Promoted by the Il Tamburo di Aci association and funded by the Ministry of Culture, the initiative aims to bring culture to various city neighborhoods, particularly fragile areas. The program includes workshops and concerts running from September to December, beginning September 6 with a paper-mâché workshop by artist Ezio Scandurra and a concert by the Sicily Folk Orchestra featuring Mario Incudine and Antonio Vasta.
