Cultural events in Brazil promote LGBTQIA+ visibility

Various cultural events in Brazil are highlighting LGBTQIA+ visibility through music and art. In Rio Branco, Grammy Latin winner Gaby Amarantos is scheduled to headline the closing of the 20th Acrean Diversity Week on September 13. The week-long event, running from September 5 to 13, includes the traditional LGBTI+ Pride Parade, which expects to draw approximately 20,000 people. The program aims to promote human rights and combat prejudice through culture, sports, and entrepreneurship.

In Ceilândia, the Sarau-Vá project is concluding its special edition focused on lesbian visibility at Casa Akotirene. The event features a lineup of musical and poetic performances, including artists such as Ellen Oléria and Karla Testa. Organized by local collectives in partnership with the Federal District Secretariat of Culture, the initiative seeks to strengthen spaces for artistic exchange and highlight the cultural contributions of the lesbian and queer community.
