Cultural events in Bucharest feature Spanish illustrators and author Kamel Daoud

Several cultural events are taking place in Bucharest involving international artists and authors. The Cervantes Institute in Bucharest, in collaboration with the Spanish Embassy in Romania, is hosting an illustration exhibition titled “Lazos y trazos. 145 de años de relaciones diplomáticas entre España y Rumanía”. The exhibition features 18 works by six illustrators—three Spanish and three Romanian—to celebrate 145 years of bilateral relations between Spain and Romania. The exhibition is open to the public until December 18, 2026.

Additionally, Kamel Daoud, the 2024 Prix Goncourt winner, is visiting Bucharest for two public meetings on September 23 and 24. These events, organized by the French Institute in Romania and Editura Trei, mark the launch of “Saison Goncourt,” a new annual project dedicated to contemporary French literature in Romania and Moldova. Daoud, a prominent Franco-Algerian writer and journalist, will discuss his novel “Huriile” during sessions at the French Institute and Humanitas Bookstore.
