Cultural events in Italy to explore philosophy and science

Several cultural events are scheduled across Italy to address themes of truth, science, and critical thinking.

In Misano Adriatico, philosopher Lucrezia Ercoli will participate in the “La Verità” series at the Cinema Teatro Astra on October 16. Her lecture, titled “Dubito ergo sum: contro gli spacciatori di verità,” will examine the role of doubt in an era of post-truth and intense public polarization. Ercoli aims to discuss how truth is often reduced to dogmatic choices and how philosophy can serve as a tool for questioning established certainties.

Additionally, the “Ad alta voce” cultural tour will visit the Musei Civici in Reggio Emilia on October 18. Scientific journalist Silvia Bencivelli will engage in a dialogue with Alessandra Ferrari regarding the relationship between science, knowledge, and society. The discussion will focus on science as a method of inquiry and the importance of scientific communication for informed democratic participation.
