Cultural events in Prague and Trenčín highlight music and democracy

The Prague Spring festival is set to return in 2027, featuring a program centered on the works of Ludwig van Beethoven. Scheduled from May 12 to June 2, the 82nd edition of the international music festival will include over 40 concerts, workshops, and masterclasses. The event is expected to host more than 90 artists and ensembles from 23 different countries.

In Trenčín, the Sounds of Democracy series will conclude on November 16 and 17 as part of the Trenčín 2026 European Capital of Culture program. The event will feature a concert by the Czech rock band Pražský výběr, led by Michael Kocáb, and a discussion between Kocáb and Milan Kňažko regarding the legacy of the Velvet Revolution.
