Cultural events in Sanabria and Guanajuato face weather and venue shifts

In Sanabria, Spain, heavy rainfall forced organizers to alter the III Encuentro de Mascaradas de Zamora. The planned parade along the beach of Los Enanos at Lake Sanabria was cancelled to protect participants and delicate, handcrafted masks and costumes from water damage. To preserve the tradition, the event was moved to a large tent, where groups performed and held a modified parade.

Meanwhile, in Guanajuato, Mexico, the 54th Festival Internacional Cervantino featured a performance by French DJ Hervé and the MazelFreten dance company. Held at Plaza Miguel Hidalgo, the “Fiesta del Espíritu” combined electronic music, hip-hop, and pop, drawing hundreds of attendees despite low temperatures.
