Cultural events in the Dominican Republic and Cuba celebrate Cuban heritage

Cultural events are taking place in the Caribbean to celebrate and support Cuban heritage. In the Dominican Republic, the Red Nacional de Trabajadores de la Cultura will host a poetry recital on September 8 at the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD). The event, coordinated by poets Víctor Saldaña, Julio Cuevas, Ramón Tejeda Read, and Luis Tomás Oviedo Peña, aims to express solidarity with the Cuban people through music and poetry.

In Santiago de Cuba, the local Book Fair has resumed the promotion of Cuban music. Hosted by musicologist Yori Andino, the program features literature and research related to the nation's musical heritage. A recent highlight included a presentation honoring the centenary of musician Enrique Bonne, featuring the book ‘No quiero piedra en mi camino: conversaciones con Enrique Bonne’, which explores his life and artistic contributions.
