Cultural events scheduled across Belgium for August 29

Various cultural and community events are scheduled for Saturday, August 29, 2026, across different locations in Belgium.

In Oosterzele, the local government is hosting the ‘T’OOST’ meeting festival at the De Kluize site. The event, which runs from 14:00 to 18:00, features free activities including demonstrations, music, children's animation, and a communal dessert picnic designed to connect residents and introduce newcomers to local associations.

In Deinze, the Flemish Poetry Days will take place at Bed & Breakfast De Linde aan Ooidonk. The program includes a lecture by Dirk De Geest on Basiel De Craene, a poetry circle, musical interludes, and a comedy act. A guided walking route is also organized prior to the main event.

In Mechelen, Kazerne Dossin is hosting the ‘Re\turn’ photography exhibition by Carl De Keyzer. Commissioned by Fedasil, the exhibition documents the lives of individuals from eight different countries—including Armenia, Brazil, and Rwanda—who have voluntarily returned to their home countries after fleeing. A free guided tour is scheduled for the afternoon.
