Cultural events scheduled for Caen and Pornic in France

In Caen, the performance ‘Some really good news’ will take place from November 6 to 8, 2026, at the Parc du Château. Written by art historian Estelle Zhong Mengual and directed by Clara Hédouin, the one-hour show features performers Manon Hugny and Maxime Le Gac-Olanié. The production explores the relationship between urban life and the living world, focusing on how contemporary cities often render plants and animals invisible to residents.

In Pornic, the summer theater festival at the Château de Pornic will conclude following low attendance. Starting July 1, 2027, the site will host a new nocturnal audio-guided light and sound show created by video painter Xavier de Richemont. Organized by the Association pour la sauvegarde du Vieux Pornic (ASVP), the experience will feature monumental projections, programmed lighting, and individual headsets for a continuous narrated journey through the castle grounds.
