European cultural festivals and performances scheduled for 2026

Various cultural festivals and performances are scheduled across Europe for the summer and autumn of 2026.

In Klagenfurt, Austria, the Kunstfilmtage will take place on September 10 and 11, 2026, at Lendhafen. The event will feature film works from Austria, Slovenia, and Croatia. The opening night will focus on a retrospective of artist Katharina Gruzei, showcasing her explorations of public space, perception, and social change through video and media works.

In Germany, several performing arts events are planned. Circus Rambazotti will host its Sommerause in Kassel on August 22, 2026, featuring circus shows, live music from local newcomers, and various interactive activities. In Nordhorn, the International Street Culture Festival will present a family-oriented variety gala on September 4, 2026, featuring acrobatics, clowning, and puppet theater.

The Kunstfest Weimar will run from August 21 to September 6, 2026, under the direction of Katharina Germo and Juliane Hahn. The festival will offer an international program spanning theater, dance, music, and visual arts, utilizing both established venues and public spaces in the Weimar region.
