Cultural events scheduled in Blagoevgrad and Skopje

Blagoevgrad will host the ‘Great Urban Stage’ from September 2 to 4, 2026, at Macedonia Square. The event marks the start of the new creative season, featuring various performances from local youth dance groups, schools, and musical formations. The program includes modern and sports dance, ballet, folklore, and music. The festival concludes on September 4 with a concert by the Presto Music School and the Blagoevgrad Big Band.

In Skopje, the award-winning play ‘Una’ by Belgrade’s Zvezdara teatar has added an extra performance on September 7 at the Macedonian National Theatre due to high public interest. Directed by Dejan Prokovski and starring Nikola Ristonovski, the production is based on the dramatic text by Stevan Koprivica. The play explores themes of love, memory, and freedom, and has received several regional festival awards.
