Cultural events scheduled in Paysandú and literary tributes to Borges

Various cultural activities are scheduled in Paysandú, Uruguay, from August 28 to September 5. The agenda includes Uruguayan cinema screenings at the José Pedro Varela Public Library, a carnival group formation workshop led by ADAC, and a theater workshop showcase at the Casa de Cultura. Other events feature a tribute to Aníbal Sampayo, including a dialogue at Plaza Bella Vista and a musical tribute by Catherine Vergnes at the Florencio Sánchez Theater. Additionally, the Santa Rosa Fest motorcycle gathering will take place at Termas de Guaviyú.

In another literary event, the Pibernus Library is hosting a reading and coffee session to honor Argentine writer Jorge Luis Borges. Organized with the “Grupo Azul” collective, the event includes shared readings and discussions regarding the challenges of physical reading in the digital age. The library is also organizing a solidarity collection of books and toys for pediatric departments.
